About Saint-André Cheese
Saint Andre is a triple crème cow’s milk cheese produced in the Normandy region of northwestern France. It has a high fat (75%) content because it is further enhanced with heavy cream, making it dense, buttery and rich. The rind is covered with a velvety and powdery bloomy mold while the inside is ivory white in colour. This cheese is similar to Wignotte another famous French soft cheese.
Saint-Andre cheese is extraordinarily rich and creamy, with a soft, buttery texture which sometimes becomes slightly crumbly. The outside of the cheese is covered in a soft, velvety white rind of mold, while the inside is pale yellow in colour. Saint-Andre cheese is typically made in the form of tall wheels. St Andre it is best suggested with a light beer, dessert wine, champagne, prosecco or a slice of pear or dates. It could also be enjoyed with a crusty French bread or a plain cracker.
