About Morbier AOC Cheese
Morbier is a semi-soft cheese named after the small village of Morbier in France. Is immediately recognizable by the distinctive thin black layer separating it horizontally in the middle by ash because traditional Morbier in old ages, was made by a layer of the morning and the evening milk, but these days it is made by a single milking, while ash is added it to follow the tradition. Made from unpasteurized cow’s milk/no vegetarian.
Tasting Notes
Morbier has a rich and creamy flavour with small holes with grassy, pungent, strong aroma. This cheese has a mild taste and leaves a wonderful, nutty aftertaste. Is good to try with Gewurztraminer or Red Pinot Noir.
